Better substitutes: People who suck on lemons regularly are known to have severe erosions of their teeth. Whether or not that happens is dependent upon the length of time and frequency that the acid is in contact with the tooth. The same goes for soda, sugary snacks, etc. You can be very healthy without having lemons all the time. Try to find a healthy substitute that will not destroy your teeth.

Lemon can harm teeth: Sucking lemons daily can lead to loss of enamel due to the acidic nature of the fruit. Long term exposure to lemon juice will lead to dentin exposure, pain and possible need for root canals and/or extractions. It's best not to eat a lemon daily for the health of your teeth.
