Epinephrine is best: Epinephrine is the treatment of choice for food allergy reactions. Zyrtec (cetirizine) may help the hives although it will likely not do much for the more concerning symptoms (breathing problems, low blood pressure, vomiting etc.) that can result from an allergic reaction to peanuts.
