No: The answer to your question is no. Placement of breast implant by themselves does not lower your risk to develop breast cancer. However patients who typically get breast implants, have smaller amounts of breast tissue. With that said, it can be expected that breast augmentation patients could expect to have less risk for breast cancer.

No: Breast implant do not increase or decrease the risk of getting breast cancer. However having implants and being examined more often, may make a lump get detected sooner. Especially if you are thin and have, large sub muscular implants.
