A member asked:

Is it normal to start coughing when your scabs are coming off from a tonsillectomy?

Probably: This is not unusual if the scabs are making you cough. Just make sure there is nothing else running down the back of your throat making you cough - especially blood. If you are bleeding after your scabs fall off and it doesn't stop right away - you'll need to go to the nearest emergency room right away to be evaluated.
