What happens when you have knee pain and a medial pain and you may have a tear? what are the special test for knee pain besides a mri ?

See below: An MRI is the most sensitive test to evaluate the structures of the knee. Plain xray do not show the soft tissue structures (cartilage, ligamants) in detail.

Exam: A medial meniscal year can certainly cause medial based knee pain, but is not the only potential cause. Usually a detailed exam can go a long way to determining the problems. Further test other than an MRI include an arthrogram or a diagnostic arthroscopy. Thank you for the question.
