My wife is 27 week pregnant and have severe back and hips pain.is it normal? and what should we do?

Yes & No: Some women, minority, have these pain patterns with pregnancy. Many drs. Believe problem is loose pelvic joints (sacroiliac, sij, and symphysis pubis) due to an hormone, relaxin, secreted during pregnancy; loosening ligaments enabling wider birth canal. An sij belt has helped some, as reported by dr. Andry vleeming, who chaired european criteria for diagnosis & care of low back & pelvic pain.

Back pain: And hip pain is common in pregnancy but shouldn't be severe. In general women can use tylenol (acetaminophen) or heat or ice. Some women benefit from physical therapy. She should check with her doctor.
