Back pain when on the accutane drug, is this something i should worry about?

Accutane: Back pain is a red flag if you are less than 17yo. Accutane is usually for teenage acne. Regardless, joint pain is a know side effect of accutane. If the back pain does not go away within 4 weeks seek advise including reducing or eliminating the accutane. Should be evaluated before stopping medication to determine cause including those other than accutane.

Possible cause: Accutane can be associated with same symptoms as vitamin a toxicity. Headache, bone/ joint pain, muscle pain with weakness, and abdominal pain to name a few. I would recommend conferring with your pcp to determine if medication is indeed the cause or if further work-up is needed.
