Don't be afraid: Both proceeders are at most annoying, but not painful. Explain your anxiety to your dentist and have him carefully explain what is to be done and why. Ba afraid of not getting examination and treatment, because what you don't know can be harmful. Trust your dentist. He wants to do the best for you.

Discussion: I am curious as to what happened when you had the tooth extracted. Were you awake or sedated? Was there some trauma involved in the extraction? You really need to discuss this issue with your dentist to find out why you feel this way. If needed you may wish to get a prescription for some type of relaxation medication for you next few appointments until you get over your extraction experience.
