Pediatric ortho: Given your age, i presume your daughter is a child. I would suggest that you see a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon. He or she can examine her and decide what treatment, if any, would help. Some leg and foot issues do not need treatment and should be observed. Others may need treatment. Orthotics can be expensive, so see the pediatric orthopaedist.

Not a pt: Podiatrist or foot and ankle ortho are the only people qualified to cast and dispense proper orthotics to control gait if your daughter hperpronates look into the hyprocure procedure.

Either is qualified.: If you see an orthopedic surgeon, make sure they specialize in the foot and ankle. All podiatrists specialize in the foot and ankle (it's what we do!), and should be able to evaluate your daughter and prescribe orthotics if necessary.

Orthotics: See your podiatrist for orthotics. Podiatry is the best at biomechanics of the human foot and the best at orthotics . Period. You won't be sorry . Good luck.

May need orthotics: See a podiatrist for a recommendation on if orthotics could be right for you. If you want to try an over-the-coubter product first, try spenco total support insoles. http://www.spenco.com/products/footcare/total-support-insoles all podiatrists are trained in this type of service. If the situation continues and is becoming more painful, then you should get a surgical consultation.
