I read that alternating shoes each day and heel height (from 3/4 to 2 in. and wide instead of narrow) is good for feet. is this true? if so, why?

Yes, only low heels: You are right and i agree but i would limit wearing 2 inch heels to occasionally. When you wear high heels, it forces your forefoot to bear most of your weight. This can lead to problems.

Not exactly.: In actuality, the best option is to wear shoes that mimic the natural shape of your foot, with minimal heel height and wide toe box. Alternating is a great idea as it decreases wear, pressure points and microbial growth in the shoes materials.
