Blocked tear duct: Sometimes in a baby the tear duct, located in the corner of the eye next to the nose, is blocked. The eyes will water, and sometimes there will be a yellow/green discharge. This is annoying but not dangerous. If the white of the eye is red or the area becomes swollen, there is more of a problem and you should bring it to the doctor's attention immediately. If not, just wipe it off.

Blocked tear duct: Massage down from the corner of the eye along the side of the nose three or four times per day. This may open up the blockage. Almost all of these blockages go away by a year of age, but it may need to be opened by an eye doctor if it gets worse.
