Injection vs surgery: Keloids are defined as scars that overthrow their boundaries. These scars respond well and udually shrink with intralesional injections if kenalog (triamcinolone) (steroid). Sometimes, they are surgically removed but since keloids form in areas of traumatized skin that is stretched (upper back, chest, face, etc) they can recur. Controversial tx includes Aldara as well.
