Whole grains: Her doctor should have the chance to look for any cause if not done already.
At this age it is worth trying to go without any milk products for a few weeks. Lactose intolerance sometimes causes constipation in children. Then water, staying active, and a whole grain diet with fruits and vegetables are the best options. Avoid cheese.
Miralax if needed would be ok.

Miralax, (polyethylene glycol) Benefiber: Chronic constipation stretches the rectum. The urge to go decreases & children withhold. The stool becomes drier & harder leading to painful & difficult movements. It requires lengthy & persistent treatment to allow the rectum to regain muscle tone. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) is a tasteless, odorless powder that increases the water content of stool. Talk to your pediatrician. Goal: one soft stool per day.
