Probably tried, but: I assume she has seen a pediatric gastroenterologist who specializes in constipation. I also assume she has tried various medical regimens using MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol). Without knowing more, it is hard to know if this could be anatomical in origin versus behavioral. I don't know where you live or who you tried, but i would try a major academic pediatric medical center if you haven't.

How severe?: How long does she go in between bowel movements? Has she seen a gastroenterologist. Sometimes a simple manometry test can rule out significant pathology.

Evaluation: Presuming she has seen a GI doc and correctable causes have been ruled out, i would suggest you see someone who specializes in bowel management programs. There are children with a neurogenic bowel which has very poor motility. So, that should be determined. These children can benefit from enema programs. Improves how they feel.

Pediatric GI: While constipation is one area where a naturopath might be able to help, if it is not working see a pediatric GI specialist. Perhaps at a children's hospital. There are many serious disorders that can affect a child's colon, digestive system or both.
