Yes it is said to be: Valacyclovir has been assigned to pregnancy category b by the fda. High-dose animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of teratogenicity.

Valtrex (valacyclovir): There are no controlled first trimester studies but Valtrex (valacyclovir) is safe in 2-3 trimester of pregnancy.
