Consult your doc: Pertussis, whooping cough, is a highly contagious bacterial disease known for violent uncontrollable coughing. Antibiotics can be prescribed, but other supportive treatment might be required based on the general health of the person infected. It would be wise to consult your doctor about this. Mgt M.D. visit: It may be related to irritation of the airway and bleeding from vessels in the lining of the airway. He should see his physician and avoid aspirin and related products until he is checked. Most cases respond well to treatment with antibiotics.
