Probably ok: Bruising can take months to improve as it indicates trauma to the tissues (bleeding within the tissues). You will notice evolution of the wound -changing colors while healing. If the bruising last particularly long- a coagulation disorder could rarely be the cause. See you primary care for details.

Red or bruised?: It is very normal for a scar to remain red (hyperemic) for several months or even years after an injury. However it is abnormal to remain bruised and may suggest a vascular malformation or hematoma or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation or hemosiderosis. You may want to discuss with a dermatologist.
