2things: A cracked toothe commonly causes this. Especially if its a sharp pain. Nuts, bagels also cause this. Secondly, the tooth may have a chronic root end abscess. Or, you may just need a localized bite adjustment. Either way, visit your dentist!

Chewing and teeth: If you grind or clench your teeth, there may be a small crack that causes your chewing tenderness. Or, if there is a chance your tooth died, there may be a root abscess present which elevates the tooth out of its socket slightly, causing pain upon chewing. It sounds like a visit to your dentist is in order.
