Toothache: Could be a cavity, a loose filling, periodontal problems, a cracked tooth, an abscess. So many possibilities, but without seeing the tooth and looking at a radiograph, impossible to tell what your problem is. Call a local dentist for an appointment.

Crack or infection: Pain when chewing can be a cracked tooth, or an infection in your jaw, under the tooth. See your dentist to diagnose properly.
