Yes: Inhalers are commonly used in bronchitis; they may increase the airway diameter and help allow you to expectorate (cough out) more mucous. They also can be used to dry secretions in the airways as well.

Yes but not alone: An inhaler such as albuterol will help open the airways but an anti-inflammatory and antibiotics are also necessary. Sometimes an oral or IV steriod is used. Antibiotics for infection plus bronchodilators plus steroids. On discharge, spiriva, pressair, advair or symbacort may help lessen the occurances. Bronchitis is inlfammtion of the bronchi which cause airway obstructin and breathing issues.
