Chronic bronchitis..: Chronic bronchitis is a form of COPD and it is usually caused by smoking. Treatment usually includes bronchodilator and steroid inhalers as well as smoking cessation. These inhalers can be taken for more than 10 years with doctor supervision. Rinse and spit after steroid inhaler use to avoid a fungal infection called thrush. Oxygen may also be needed if the patient's oxygen level is low.
