Eye pressure: The eye pressure you feel may not indicate a problem inside the eye. Your eye pain may be stress and anxiety-related. Seek care from your primary care doctor as soon as possible.

Possible sinus: One of the most common for pressure around the eyes is actually from sinus congestion and not from the eye itself. See your pcp for sinus evaluation, if your symptoms still persist see your ophthalmologist.

Unless the intraocular pressure goes up significantly and rapidly, most people cannot feel the actual "pressure" in their eyes. That is why garden variety open angle glaucoma is often not diagnosed until quite late. Often what people feel as "eye pressure"is actually pressure from the sinuses that surround the eye and orbit (eye socket).
