Inflammation: Some kind of an inflammation must be causing the pain, redness or tingling?, it may be tendinitis, a soft tissue injury, gout, fracture. Only way is to be examined. Meanwhile try aleve (naproxen) twice a day if not contraindicated.

Early Trigger finger: Sounds like the early stages of a trigger finger, before it starts to catch. See if you have a tender spot on your palm, at the base of your pinky where there's a bony bump. Nsaids like Ibuprofen might help if this is the case. An orthopaedic or hand surgeon can check it out and see if an injection is appropriate.
