Cognitive exercise: Depression can cause sleep disturbance, and some of the antidepressants can interfere with sleep initiation or maintenance. Calming you mind before sleep-not tv, computer- may help. Wearing orange wrap around sunglasses 2 hours before bed may help. Learning some relaxing visual imagery techniques to occupy your mind to block worrysome thoughts will assist sleep onset and maintenance.

Sleep hygiene: Try not to exercise up to 5 hours before you sleep. Yoga, meditation and pilates are best to assist with sleep hygiene. Also try not to drink any caffeinated drinks up to 6-7 hours before taking to bed.
