Laser therapy: The most common method of treating glaucoma is the use of eye drop medications to lower the eye pressure. If the angle of the eye is open then a low energy treatment, selective laser trabeculoplasty (slt) can often be effective in lowering the eye pressure for variable lengths of time. A balanced diet and exercise can also be beneficial in lowering eye pressure as well as maintaining good health.

Laser, cryo, surgery: A variety of laser procedures are available including alt, slt, and procedures to open the pupil. In some cases, cryotherapy can be applied to the ciliary body. This is not predictable and can result in pthisis. Recently, some microsurgical devices have been approved to lower eye pressure. Typically, these are implanted during cataract surgery. Finally, there is traditional glaucoma surgery.

Laser and surgery: Treatment involves lowering the intraocular pressure either with medications, laser treatment or with surgery. Laser treatments increase flow through the trabecular meshwork of the eye. Medications either decrease fluid production or increase drainage. The most common surgical procedure is trabeculectomy which creates a pathway to drain fluid out of the eye. New surgical procedures are evolving.

Many: It is hard to answer in 400 characters. But here goes. 1. Laser treatments aim at increasing outflow. 2. Various surgeries to augment or add to the outflow. 3. Marijuana can lower as well though the risks of smoking outweigh the benefits. 4. Treating low blood pressure. 5. Pills/diuretics. But they have considerable adverse side effects as well.

Surgery: Eyedrops usually can control most cases of glaucoma. If they fail, or become poorly tolerated, then there is laser treatment to lower the pressure and operative surgery designed to increase the drainage of the intraocular fluids and therefore lower the eye pressure.
