Do colon tumours bleed more as the disease progresses?

Not necessarily: Bleeding from colon cancer can be slow & mild & not perceptible to the eye. Slow prolonged bleeding can lead to anemia. Larger colon cancers may not show more bleeding. Advanced colon cancers can lead to bowel or colon obstruction or metastatic disease spread to other organs.

Bleed and obstruct: Bleeding is more noticeable and become more symptomatic to patients -when the colon cancer gets bigger. It simply due to the larger surface of the cancer that could be irritated easily and bleed easily as the cancer cells become more fragile and necrotic when the tumor is larger. Also, when the tumor is larger- it can cause obstruction and perforation.
