Many possibilities: Istamet is a combination of metformin and sitigliptin, used in type 2 diabetes. Considering your young age, you need to verify that you have type 2 and not early type 1 diabetes. The optimal dose is sitigliptin 100 mg, metformin 2000 mg daily. Diet and exercise are always very important. Other medications that can be added include sulfonylureas, meglitinides, pioglitazone, acarbose, insulin.
