Recent infection: Igm antibodies are the first type produced by the immune system after an infection, but they are transient. Igg takes a while to get produced by the immune system, but may last for years or more. With both types elevated, you were likely exposed to the hsv2 within the past few months--long enough to start making igg but not too long to lose the igm. See an id specialist or immunologist if more ?S.
