See his doctor: It sounds like it could be a skin infection, perhaps from a bug bite. Depending on how large it is, if it is getting worse day by day, and how tender it is, he may just need antibiotics to treat it. If your doctor thinks it is an abscess (a pocket of pus in the skin), they may want to drain out the fluid. That will make it easier to treat with less pain. Warm packs and pain relief can also help.
