Last year i got a bad stomach virus. 8 months on i've just been diagnosed with chronic tonsillitis by ent. could a stomach virus?

No: Chronic tonsillitis is typically related to recurrent tonsillar infections, whether viral or bacterial. It is unlikely precipitated solely by a bad stomach virus you contracted 8 months prior.
