Other causes: Testosterone has a "permissive" effect on erectile function -- a little bit is all that is required. There are multiple physical and psychological causes for erectile dysfunction that have nothing to do with testosterone. What is your free testosterone level and was your test done in the morning. There is a chance you may need a slight increase in AndroGel (?).

386 is normal . . .: In many labs, a total t of 386ng/dl is normal (http://www.Questdiagnostics.Com/hcp/intguide/endometab/gen_misc/testosterone/table%201.Pdf). Of course, it also depends upon how t was checked (what technique was used). My point is that excess t when you don't need it can be converted into estradiol, female hormone, which can then lead to ed. So if you really need androgel, also check estradiol.
