In rare rare cases it can lead to cirrhosis so it should not be ignored. Weight loss, low fat diet, and reduction in alcohol intake are important. Fatty Liver: Fatty liver can look like this under ultrasound. "no gross abnormalitiy" means that there are no tumors or other unusual findings in the liver. The parenchyma is the liver tissue itself. If you have fatty liver, it would be important to know if your liver enzymes are elevated as well.
