Same as anyone else: The recovery may be different... Talk with your surgeon before the procedure to understand what to expect. Perhaps an ENT surgeon from here might comment...

Frequently: By bad i assume you mean is the recovery difficult. Adults typically experience 7-10 days of significant pain in the throat following tonsillectomy. Your surgeon will give you pain medicine. Keeping yourself hydrated is very important and often keeps the pain level down.

No: Tonsillectomy in adults is very safe. There is a slightly increased risk of bleeding compared to when they removed as a kid, and postoperative pain is usually a little worse than the pediatric population. But overall still very safe.
