A member asked:

Whats the best cure for hypothyroidism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Treated not cured: The most common cause for hypothyroidism in the us is autoimmune related. For most people, it is a permanent loss of thyroid function. It is easily treated by taking thyroid hormone daily, but it typically cannot be "cured", so that you don't have to take medication. Thyroid hormone however is relatively cheap and if taken correctly has no significant side effects.
