A member asked:

What is wrong with a baby who never has bowel movements except when i use a suppository ? what could i do to help her?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See your baby's dr: The biggest concern with the baby's lack of spontaneous bowel movements is hirschsprung's disease, which means that part of the large intestine doesn't have proper nerve stimulation, so it doesn't work and can't push out bowel movements. This needs to be evaluated and possibly treated surgically.
