Do anti-psychotics cause changes in insulin resistance, diabetes, or other metabolic disorders when they have been discontinued ?

Side effects: The patients I have treated who had marked increases in weight, triglycerides and blood sugar on atypical antipsychotics, experienced normalization of these functions when the medications were stopped. However, I do not know if this uniformally occurs.

Definitely: All the the major anti-psychotics can cause severe increases in Insulin resistance, leading to weight gain and worsening of (or predisposition to) diabetes.
