If is persists: Ganglions can rupture and go away. Sometimes when this happens you can develope some inflammation or soreness. It should go away in less than a week. If pain perisists, you might want to get it checked out by a hand surgeon.

Not yet.: Wrist ganglions are benign bulges of joint fluid like a bulge on a tire. The can come and go on their own. They hurt because of pinching of deep sensory nerves and taking up some space. Neither are worrisome. If the mass gets big enough it can be aspirated but it may come back.
