I've had several pelvic ultrasounds in the last year and all of them have shown free fluid in my pelvis. is this normal?

Yes: A small amount is normal in females of menstrual age.

Depends.: The presence of free pelvic fluid is nonspecific. It could be physiologic or from infection or malignancy. A small amount of fluid is typically physiologic, related to menstrual cycle/ovulation. Your doctor may be able to determine from your symptoms and other ancillary testing to determine if the fluid would be worrisome or not.
