Probably: In the us, when a child is obstructed by his tonsils to the point that his oral intake of food is affected (unable to eat solid food by age 3) then he is likely to also be having trouble breathing, particularly at night with snoring. In the us, such a child would likely have a tonsillectomy.

See below: Talk to the ENT surgeon. Sometimes the excess tissue of the adenoids and tonsils can be shrunk by a course of nasal steroids and/or decongestants. The ENT can help you decide if the symptoms that your daughter is experiencing needs surgery. For example, has the sleep pattern been disturbed. Good luck.
