Surgery: Surgery is the treatment for hyperparathyroidism. If you are not a surgical candidate, there is a pill that you can take to lower the parathyroid level but you need to take this pill long term and it's not the best treatment. Make sure you have a good endocrinologist and ENT /surgeon on the case as you go through this.
