"Norcodics"?: I'm not sure whether you mean "narcotics" -- a term which originally referred to any psychoactive compound with sleep-inducing properties? Nowadays this term usually means opiates, such as morphine, heroin, and their derivatives like hydrocodone. Opiates have a solid place in managing physical pain, but other medications work better for anxiety. Not all options are habit forming, either.

Anxiety is : Treatable with cognitive-behavioral therapy and it's not addictive. It can also teach you the coping skills needed to lead a successful life without having to take medication every day for the rest of your life. Group therapy is also very effective and may cost less than individual sessions.
