No: Gout is a condition in which uric acid crystals are deposited in a joint that can cause pain and swelling. To specifically answer your question, gout can only affects the joints of the body. Gout will typically affect the joints of the feet and hands, the knee and the elbow. It would be uncommon therefore to cause pain in the area of the low back or waistline.
