A member asked:

U ultrsound showed a coarse liver what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Off course: A 'coarse' liver is not really a radiological term. It could mean an increase in echogenicity, which in turn could mean excessive fat infiltration. If they meant the liver is nodular it could mean something a bit more serious. This finding should be correlated with your clinical history and laboratory tests. A gastroenterologist should be able to help with the diagnosis.
