A member asked:

36yr old female with bata-thal/sickle cell with crisis, coagulation defects, protein s def, essential hypertension & others. what is my life espec!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Over 50.: Sca alone has a median survival of 48 years for females (50 % live longer). The beta thalassemia tends to produce milder disease, and survival into the 60's is not unusual. Protein s deficiency if known can be managed with anti-coagulation if appropriate. Statistics don't really say anything about you personally. There is no way to know for sure what is in store for you.
