Post-eclampsia Elert: Usually signs of preaclampsia disappear 1-2 wks after birth. If you have symptoms persisting beyond delivery, it would be called post aclampsia, which should be viewed seriously for potential of complications such as hypertension, seizures and kidney disease. Besides your BP, your OB doctor may want to test your blood for platelets (for clotting ability), urine and BP and you may benefit from meds
