No certain answer: There is no real answer to this question since there are a number of different artificial hearts implanted for different reasons, some just assist the damaged heart and some replace its actions all together. Usually the artificial heart is a bridge to transplant with a real donor heart. The longest survival without a replacement human heart transplant is a little over 1500 days at present.
