Many: Low body temperature may be due to exposure to cold conditions, infections that lead to sepsis, use of alcohol or other drugs in the setting of cold conditions, adrenal, pituitary, or thyroid gland dysfunction, acute brain injuries such as stroke or trauma, spinal cord injury, or brain tumor. Low body temperature is defined as body temperature less than 36 degrees celcius or 95 degrees farenheit.
