Sweating & inflammat: Both high body temp (fever) as well as low (hypothermia) are immune responses to an infection. IL-1, a key protein, causes sweating & a rise in body temp. After the sweating, the body cools. Blood from the core organs (warm) gets shunted to the skin where it dissipates, cooling the body & lowering the temperature. Again, both HIGH and LOW body temp can indicate infection..
