Yes: Most people do gain weight when they quit smoking, for several reasons. Smoking decreases appetite, taste and smell, and may increase metabolism. When you quit, your appetite increases, food tastes and smells better, and your metabolism may decrease again. Don't let this stop you from quitting. You can learn to maintain a healthy weight again, and smoking is just not worth it!
