Can i give my 1mon.child chlorpheniramine syrup?

No.: Chlorpheniramine has not been proven safe or effective under 2 years old. If you think your one month old baby has had an allergic reaction, please call your pediatrician for recommendations. If your baby has a cold, saline nose drops and suctioning is a much more effective and safer treatment than antihistamines..

Better not: At this age the sedative effects may outweight any benefit. If your doctor recommends it, it might be ok, but even then i never have had to at that age.

Congested ?: The first months are troubled by narrow nasal passages & exposure to dust, fragrances, smoke &other irritants.Baby tries to flush these out of the nose with mucous but this often ends as congestion & produces rattling with breathing. The best rx is washing out the nose with saline & suctioning the remainder. Such meds are never appropriate for babies this young.
